Ixthusdan, nope no recent update i woke up a morning and no more X , if i change driver to nv it works but Xnerama do'nt work,. kind of very weird.

everything was working like a charm , and suddenly, Xine sound became itchy, totem, keffeine all worked fine begfore, having no trouble with juk, amarok.

suddenly Nvidia drivers won't load, tried to reinstall but could not find kernel-sources who was installed, and urpme kernel-source but now i cannot reinstall kernel-source because of the damn release all urpmi repository have a curl 9.

it's been the second time mandrake 10 failed to load nvidia drivers. OE and Community.

my config is :

geforce MX440 , riva tnt2 Xinerama (i suspect that my problem is here).

my question is how can i remove nvidia drivers and reinstall them?

and how can i modify Xine sound engine?

finnaly got it by rebooting my system. but now i'm having trouble with Xine the sound is hichy :( and my Nvidia drivers won't load :(.

unmount -a is an unreconized command :(.

root@timon mnt]# unmount -a

bash: unmount: command not found

the best advice i can give you on that is to urpmi kaffeine ;)

sorry just joking, i don't like totem, if youa re using kde try affeie you won't be dispointed :)

wasn't mandrake 10 suppose to use MagicDev and not supermount?

but for my ext3 drive that don't show up is there an explanation or it's because it's a native linux file system it cannot mke a difference betwwen the drives and his own file system?

another question , is there a way to interup when a hardware is plugged and show a message to the user , to say like usb mass storage device detected and mounted at /mnt/memory_card. ?

Ok I'm gonna try to explain this the better than i can.

i have mounted and unmounted plugged and unplugged some use mass storage devices, and often mdk mount them with a different name under /mnt.

so i have like 4 different directory (unmounted) under /mnt that i cannot delete, KDE devices:/// protocol show all hoses directory like devices (even as root i cannot delete thoses directory) .

so i said that i will remove the entry from /etc/fstab but it didn't work they are still there.

and another weird thing i have a second hard 80 gig drive formatted as etx3 where i can copy , create folder and use it as a normal drive but the kde devices:/// protocol won't show it as a device :(.

I'm kind lost in that thing, anybody have an advice on how i could have something easy to work with my devices when i plug it have the same name and folder.

i know it can sound weird but the last time i have used my usb key it worked like a charm once removed the folder and the devices were deleted by mandrake success fully.

how can i delete thoses folders ?? under /mnt (even root) cannot deleted it.

I,m jsut wondering if there is an easy way to bil dan rpm if i'm able to compile a software.

i have succesfully compiled amaroK , but i want to build a rpm to sned it to a friend who his having trouble to compile. i just want to know if there is an easy way to build one while i'm compiling or after.

Have you try to dele your user settings, i dont't where they are sitting but probally something like /home/you/.thunderbird

try to wipe the settings out and restard thunderbird

might be a corrupted setting

look there is also a problem look there is a black border around the animation , and in konqueror and opera there is no such border or speed trouble. it seems to be a gtk-flash trouble

firefox is the best thing since the sliced bread :) i use it on linux at home and windows at work, i have converted basically everybuddy that i know to it, the extension all in one gesture is rocking so much :)
