Iv installed Mandriva one about 10 times now, and Iv not found how to do what I want... I wish to install the laptop kernel, with highmem and the sony-laptop modules. how would I go about this? [moved from Installing Mandriva by Greg2]

Im using Mandriva One, with kernel-laptop-latest-2.6.24.5-2mnb . any help would be of great help!

Im running Mandriva One, totaly up to date as of today. And I wish to install the sony-laptop module so I can use my function keys. Also as a side note, how do I re-compile for highmem support

I am able to hit ESC, and see the verbose loading, and It hangs on udev. and thats it, it just stays there . Iv waited up to 20 min for it to do somthing, but nothing happens.

I updated using the control pannel, and now the first option in Grub wont boot past udev. It keeps hanging. but... there are 2 new options in the boot loader, desktop586 2.6.24.5-2mnb and desktop586 2.6.24.5-2mnb. SO now I boot using the last option... desktop586 2.6.24.5-2mnb. Any idea how to fix this problem?
