NOD32, gents?
-
I have the same problem as this guy, except
$ cedega installer.exe
doesn't work: says that it has started to debug and after 10 minutes has still hung. Am pretty annoyed at the moment because i paid the subscription fee and im waiting for The Orange Box to arrive from Amazon (which i still havent heard anything from Transgaming regarding compatability)
The output from
$ glxinfo | grep direct
is
Direct rendering: No OpenGL renderer string: mesa glx indirect
So im kinda guessing the problem lies somewhere within the direct rendering, which failed the Cedega system setup test. Any ideas please?

I can only find flash player for i386 which doesn't work on AMD64 (go figure)
Does anyone know where i could find the 64-bit version?
Also, a bit off flash related topics but is there a GUI for bit-torrent?

Good guess, i am (was) a whinedoze user. But i went through setting the repos with the easy-urpmi and urpmi kernel-source-latest still turns up nothing. Or have i missed something?

I stand corrected. After i reinstalled mandriva there was still no kernel. I tried the easy URPMI page but that didnt work either. I also tried updating the kernel with urpmi kernel-source-latest and it said kernel-source-latest doesnt exist.
... :huh:

Doesn't matter anymore. My HDD packed up and im re-installing mandriva as we speak. Doesn't bother me too much because i didn't have anything important on there. Thanks anyway B)

I have run Mandriva 2007.0 RC2 and 2007.1 RC3 on a laptop from that series without problems. Everything works except for the webcam and the SD card reader, which is supposed to work in 2007.1. I have not tried the proprietary ATI driver, but the default driver worked with the 3D desktop (compiz/beryl).
Is there a way to get the webcam working? Cos i got an Aspire 5100 with a built in webcam and it can't be detected by anything :|

This has probably been covered somewhere before but i can't find it anywhere. Anyway, I found the RPM file for the 2.6.17.5 kernel on installation disc one and installed it with no hang-ups or anything. When i tried to compile source code with the MAKE command, it replied with:
Makefil.inc:91: *** KERNELCONF: /lib/modules/2.6.17-5mdv/build/.config does not exist.. Stop.
No problem, i thought. I logged in as root and found the necessary configuration files in the /boot directory, so i copied them into /lib/modules/2.6.17-5mdv/build/. I logged back in and tried it again, only to be greeted with the same resonse as above.
So i tried an earlier version of an i386 kernel RPM, installed perfectly, and still the same problem. I may be whining but this is really driving me up the wall
Anyone care to shed some light on this?

Update: I managed to get rid of that loud buzzing sound (the volume was turned up loud) :|
Still no sound when i try to play MP3s, or in fact any kind of sound.

Hey guys, first of all this could be called an intro because im new to the forum but i have a problem with my logitech USB speakers.
I can connect them up no problem, and mandriva detects them but whenever i try to play music through them it only plays through my laptop speakers.
And when i go to configure them they are detected but when i play the test sound some garbled buzzing sound comes out of them really loudly :huh:
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Mandriva 2008.0 i586, will it work on x86_64?
in Installing Mandriva

If anyone read my previous topics (about cedega) They will probably realise that i'm about to give up entirely on 64 bit mandriva. Before i do, will it actually work? I've heard little bits about 32-bit mandriva working on 64 bit machines, but i thought i'd ask before i binned it entirely. Anyone care to share some wisdom?
System specs:
Mandriva 2007.0
AMD Turion 64 CPU, 2gHz
1024MB RAM
