OK I hane mencoder, but I don't know how to use it. There doesn't seem to be a gui, nad in a terminal I can't get a help list
Is there a trick to this?
I don't remember what command I used, but the files are titled HEDWIG1-1.vob, HEDWIG1-2.vob, and HEDWIG1-3.vob.
I tried to install dvdrip and it listed about 20 different conflicts, so I am installing mencoder and acidvd.
I recently ripped my first DVD and I was surprised at how easy it was, I used vorbis in a terminal, BUT I can't play the file. Is there something I need to do? Did I do something wrong? Do I need a codec? I am using mplayer.
Ok I have done my 6th reinstall since I have started having problems wiith menus. Now what do I do to fix the problem. I have been having the same problem in 9.1 and 9.2 . I have never had a problem with my menus before, I had it customized. I am not having any problems now, but I am afraid to change anything. How do I fix this?
I don't have a menu for rpmdrake and it won't do any updates through a terminal.
I have reinstalled 9.2 twice, and now 9.1 on my other harddrive is doing the same thing, I have also reinstalled it twice. Nothing I seem to do fixes the problem. This really makes me wonder about mandrake.
Mandrake isn't near as cool without menus.
I have tried the update-menus -v and it doesn't work. Everytime I try to change my menu I get:
ERROR: Couldn't attach to DCOP server!
What is going wrong and how do I fix it if the update doesn't work. I saw the other thread on this and there was a big long process that is supposed to fix it. If there isn't a better way to do this, I am going back to 9.1.
Can anyone tell me how to fix my menus?
WOW!!
I am really amazed at how messed up my menus are in 9.2!
I have tried to do the fix and it doesn't do any thing.
I have NO, thats right NO menus in KDE and in fluxbox I am missing some very important things, like packages, and configuration.
What is my next step? reinstalling? It seems that there would be a reliable fix for a problem this glaring.
Currently I am a man of few choices (ha ha).
9.1 just crashed on me and I had to reinstall, but for some reason I am not getting any sound from xmms. The alert beeps works, but no music. I think this happened the vey first time I installed 9.1 in june, but I have never had a problem with it since.
I have skimed through it, but I think I made a mistake when I first downloaded it, I tried to run it and it asked for information I didn't have yet, and since then it will not start
I have a sound blaster live card, when I was using microshaft windoze I could have an mp3 playing and then record it with another app into a wav file, I even had two other sound files playing and recorded them with a third app. I was making a long recording of Hyla regila(Pacific tree frog) from a short recording.
I want to be able to record sound that is playing on a DVD.
I tried a bunch of different recorders, maybe I just don't know how to use them.
Anybody done much recording or mixing?
I have kppp in my menu, so I just right click and scroll down, you can do that with menudrake, and the command is just kppp, that is also how you run it from a terminal.
I am using fluxbox and I was wondering if it is possible to configure the menu so that mulitple functions will happen from one icon?
So I have an icon for xmms, can I make a new one that will start xmms, open nautilis, and start kppp?
