  2. yea the monitor is pretty tight, as for the card readers and ipod, i am pretty sure that will work, especially if i get the drivers

its a Intel? 82845G/GL/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device

yea your right about the drivers, thats all i need

i went to the intel website and downloaded the appropriate driver but they didnt work

i tried to run the install.sh but then it says stuff about kernel modules, and AGPGART.. but i dont even have AGP... only PCI

[please watch your language. thank you. - arctic]

  3. hi i recently bought a new monitor (viewsonic vx2245wm) but i cant get it to work properly

i went into mcc and i tried to change the resolution, it installed 915resolution for me and then it found my monitor

i tried to change the resolution from mcc but it just wont go through

    i have a intel 845

i went to the intel website but i couldnt find much

could you guys help me out?

    thanks

  4. i am trying to mount an iso file using the "mount -o loop -t iso9660 filename.iso /mnt/iso" command but i get this:

Usage: mount -V : print version

mount -h : print this help

    mount : list mounted filesystems

mount -l : idem, including volume labels

So far the informational part. Next the mounting.

The command is `mount [-t fstype] something somewhere'.

Details found in /etc/fstab may be omitted.

    mount -a [-t|-O] ... : mount all stuff from /etc/fstab

mount device : mount device at the known place

mount directory : mount known device here

mount -t type dev dir : ordinary mount command

Note that one does not really mount a device, one mounts

a filesystem (of the given type) found on the device.

One can also mount an already visible directory tree elsewhere:

    mount --bind olddir newdir

    or move a subtree:

    mount --move olddir newdir

A device can be given by name, say /dev/hda1 or /dev/cdrom,

or by label, using -L label or by uuid, using -U uuid .

Other options: [-nfFrsvw] [-o options] [-p passwdfd].

For many more details, say man 8 mount .

what do i need to do?

  5. i tried to install mandriva 2007 powerpack on my dell dimension 2400 and when i boot into the dvd, i don't get any kind of graphical installer... its all text, how do i bring up the graphical install?

i pressed alt+f4 when it gets to the install part... and i see..

    linix agpgart interface v0.101

agpgart: detected an intel 845g chipset.

    agpgart: detectd 892k stolen memory.

    agpgart: agp aperture is 128m @ 0xe8000000

i dont think i even have agp....

  6. i cant install xscreensaver... the source was being gay so i downloaded a rpm, then the rpm said:

Some requested packages cannot be installed:

    xscreensaver-4.22-5mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied chbg)

and i cant install a chbg package :wall:
