    2. I just updated Firefox with urpmi - the rest I updated with MMC

    3. I used MMC

    4. I am not shure but I think from the mirrors

    5. No

    6. Can't find any var/log/messages folder?

  3. Hi again,

I did what you suggested. I changed the KDE & the QT Folders to KDEbackup etc...

I don't have any openoffice foder though.

An other thing I saw is that when I click on logout, I used to get 3 options: restart, logout & shutdown. Now I only get the option logout?!

Anyway I logged in again as a normal user after I made those changes but OO & K programms still don't start?

    Thanks

I noticed something else, I tried to start Konqueror Browser and I get the following messenges:

There was an error loading the module About-Page for Konqueror.

    The diagnostics is:

/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4)

  4. Hi,

After I made all the upgrades with MCC open office & KDE Software doesn't start anymore?

Is it possible to downgrade & what else could I do (are there any analyse programms I could use?

    Thanks

  9. Hi,

I am new to linux, less than a week. I am reading a lot about it in your Forum to learn especially about security.

But 1 thing I do not get a clear answer:

Do you need Anti Virus? Yes or No?

    Thanks.

  10. I search for packages in MCC that include "mandriva-doc". You'll see one with "starter" in the name.

If you still have problems, please describe what you did and what happened. :)

Sorry I am new to Linux so 1 stupid Question: What is MCC?
