how do i install it i try to install it by typeing in in the konsole # rpm -i winexxxx(what every other stuff is).rpm and it does nuthing nuthing comes up or does nething an di try to do the one where u right click on the RPm and click software installer and it installs it but what next? i wana beable to play a few games like halflife or tribes1 stuff like that cuz i only have a sis 4mb card in my system(dono if it has opengl or dx)so could u guys help me out?

Ok i got it my lil jumpers on my HDD were wrong i tryed reinstalling linux and it sed my drive was only 1.9gbs but its realy 10 so i tryed installing neway but i couldnt get everythign i wanted so i shut down and relooked my jumper and i found i put it on a 2gig thing on it so i put it back to full and it started ot but but liek i sed i tryed reinstalling so it mest it up so i just reinstalled but its fixed now im typeing this on it too so thanks for the help.....now to get my sound working.....

ok well at first my BIOs didnt detect everything right it would take FOREVER to find the drives (HDD and CD) theni tryed that changing the IDE thing then i changed it and then everything is right in the bios but lilo still does he same now im at the console on the rescue thing now what? and woudl it be easer to just reinstall linux? i kinda want to try out redhat neway not that mandrake is bad i just kinda wana brouden my horizons but woudl it be ezer to do that? then it will start out with this boot setuo thing

Ok i tryed that reinstalling the boot loader in the rescue thing and it didnt work i rebooted and still the same 010101010101 should i try to reinstall linux? i dont have much stuff on it nuthing i cant config within a day or so or is there a way to boot it?

yep i had to do a mobo transplant cuz my old one would take about 20 mins to boot to the BIOS so i changed it last night it goes threw the bios gets to the boot record thing and then 101010100101010101010010101 then it asks for a floppy boot disk (witch i dont have) so i need help on where to find or make a boot disk thanks in advanced

OK ill gte my video card working when i have internet on it i just need along ass ethernet cable i mean like 150 feet so itll be a lil bit cuz i hate haveing to run back and forth from my windows pcs to my room to linux itll be ezer when i get internet in there and thanks for all the links

Ok im in lol i got it working i used the change the XFdrake thing to umm xfree4 then vesa or somthing liek that then i rebooted and it worked so im on my way to droping windows lol thank u guys alot and is there ne soft were to like ajust my monitors possion cuz my buttons ont he front broke so its kinda to one side a small u know the buttons to adjust form right to left and up and down so is there a program init or do i have to download it cuz i dont have internet on right now cuz i dont have a long enuf cable maybe in a week or so ill have internet

umm ill try all that and i dont know how to edit a file ima newbie remmeber that lol and have just a regular keyboard and mouse well the keyboad im useing is a MS intellitype board and ill trry those things now PS im not going to use this thing for games just a internet PC and something i can play around with(its my first comp for myself :D i have a better comp for my gaming)

Ok i changed the rez to 800x600 and then tested it then it sed starting xfontserver or soemthing like that and then shuting donw xfontserver then i typed in the first log u sed and then it whent A WHOLE LOT of stuff so now what next?

ok i get to the command line type in "startx" (no ")and then my mongoes black again so it must be that x thing thats wrong but like u sed (hopefully)its ez to config so post back and i realy like u guys here on this forum yr not like oo look at the n00b HAHAHAH (lol)

ok that workd but can i load the gui from there(liek kde or gnome) and if not then how do i get to load the guis and what is X? remember im a very n00b i dono command line stuff

umm its a award bios umm it does like it does somthignto find all the ram the number keeps going up till it stops and thats how much ram u got the it finds what IDE masters and secondarys then it starts up the bootloader and i dono what kinda of comp it is its like microtime i dont have nething to say what it is just the guy bought it online and one mroe thing this isnt a duel boot either only linux

Ok im new ill say that now this happens with every linux OS i try (only2 but its all the ones ive tryed) ok first it happened with knoppix it goes threw everythign liek finding what hardware i have and that type of stuff. Ok then my monitor just goes black no nuthign happening just black like it whent on standby i had to use failsafe to getinto it and tahts what happend with knoppix. Now with mandrake 9.1 i installwith out errors says in the configure thign about my graffix not configured so i config them then it says its fine i test them out all fine then it reboots and the bootloader thign comes up and i pick the normal linux (first one) and it goes threw fines everything and then BLACK AGAIN i have no i dea why but it doe sive disable plug and play ive tryed failsafe and it dont work so i cant even get into linux im pretty close to just giving up linux altogether so plz help me out i realy want to use linux specs r p2-350mhz 128mb ram pc 133 video card radeon 32mb sdr (I.E 7200) my HD is a ibm somthing on master and im sorry about how i made my post so cluterd im alil pissed cuz of this and plz help if u can
