there's always virtualization w/ like vmware or parallels workstation www.vmware.com www.parallels.com

I just wanted to start a thread where Mandriva users could discuss what kind of things they're do w/ virtualiztion either at home, or at the office.

Why is Vmware offering those applications for free? And how does those free apps compare to paying $50 for Parallels?

Thanksforthe suggestions. Are any of these programs free? If not, what do they run and where can I download them all from? I know that Parallels is onyl $49 a license, which is attractive, and VMware is like $180 or something like that, which I can't afford...

I've been wanting to get into virtualization but I'm not sure what program to go with for Mandriva...money, useability, and processing speed are all factors. I know VMware isn't cheap, and I haven't heard great things about Virt PC. Does anyone have anything to say about Parallels Workstation 2.1? I know it's the most affordable of the bunch, but does that mean I'm going to be losing quality? [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
