I've got 2006 powerpack up and running nicely and I would like to have a look at community and possibly cooker. There are empty partitions on my hard drive but i can't understand the structure of the mirrors.
On ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrakelinux/ I've found
1) official/2006.0/i586/media/main
2) official/current/i586/media/main
3) devel/cooker/i586/media/main
4) devel/community/i586/media/main
5) devel/2006.0/i586/media/main
I'm not clear what the differences between some of these are, particularly 1) and 2); and between 3) 4) and 5) . I'd be most grateful if someone could explain it to me
TIA

I have a 536ep which I have managed to get working. I am still using LM9.0 but my solution may be of some help to you.
After booting up if I try to start kppp the machine locks up and the keyboard ceases to function and I have to power off and reboot.
However if, before starting kppp, I launch minicom, wait for about 20 - 30 seconds until an AT line appears on the terminal screen and then close minicom I can then start kppp and the modem works perfectly until I have to reboot and then I have to go through the same process again.
I've no idea what minicom does but it solves the problem for me.

Is anyone aware that the URL's in the FAQ's table of contents are all incorrect. They still point to mandrakeusers which does not work
