Hello. When I shut down my computer a lot of messages appear about shutting down different services. I saw for example that Stopping NFS locking: [FAILED] It means something important or not? Also there are some other long messages that I have no time to read. There is log file or something with this messages on halting the system? Thanx

Yes, I know, I just asked because win XP has driver for it. For this it's a little frustrating for me every time when I have to print something I must restart in Win.

Hi there. I'm connected with my computer in a win network and I want to use a network printer. The printer is CANON LBP 1820. I installed CUPS but I cannot found a driver for this printer in printer's drivers list. Finally I found a driver for this printer on CANON's web page http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/linux/lips4linux.html. It's a RPM package. I installed and now I don't know what to do next. I use Mandriva2006 and I tried from Mandriva Control Center to install the printer but I couldn't do it. Can anyone help me to continue. Thanx

Sorry, I don't know how to do this. Can you explain me a little.

Does anyone know how to remove the Mandriva logo from the console screen? When a session starts on the right-down of the screen there is a logo. It's cool but sometimes is annoying. Thanx
