Thanks again. I'll think about that. It doesn't seems too complicated.

Thank you guys. In Japan the prices for Mac are quite attractive. I'll let you know when my new Mac will be feed with Linux stuff :) . So we can conclude SOLVE? I don't understand well ... it doesn't support dual boot?

Thanks for your advices. I'm planning to buy a laptop and since I'm in Japan the majority of the Jp models has features that maybe will not work in Linux. On the new MacBook Pro I saw that it works WinXP, so I was thinking that maybe also Linux will work. Anyway, thanks you for your hints.

Hello guys. I intend to buy a new computer. I oscillate between Apple or PC (IBM compatible). I intend to run Linux and I don't know if there are some differences in running Linux on Apple. Can someone give some advices? Thanks. [moved from Hardware by spinynorman]

I found the problem. For those who are interested: In the file /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ro at: include "ro (std) "; delete semicolon ; the new line will looks like include "ro (std) " and you're done

Hello. Anyone know of a chronometer for linux? A GUI one i mean wit a start-stop-reset button. Thank you.

OK guys, I'll not remove SANE.
-
yes. you're right, but this post was because in the past when I removed some packages I didn't care too much about what dependencies will remove and I think that I removed some useful things. I think this is not a good idea in Md2007 to remove dependencies.
-
Thanx I stiil have my Md2006 and I installed and it's works
-
I tried also # setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout ro Error loading new keyboard description

thanks, This will be just for uninstall and not for installing? I mean when I install some new software I want to know what dependencies is needed. thanks, This will be just for uninstall and not for installing? I mean when I install some new software I want to know what dependencies is needed. I tried #urpme --nodeps Unknown option: nodeps

I updated my system and it still doesn't work. I think that some packages are missing, because in MCC when I try to add new Languages the list of countries are just from Asia Pacific zone. I think that I must install some additional languages but I don't know how.

Before I make a mistake I want to ask your opinion. I want to remove from my computer SANE. I go to MCC UnInstall Software packages and chose to remove SANE. A pop up window ask me: Because of their dependencies, the following package(s) also need to be removed: drakconf-10.4.13-1mdv2007.0 drakfirsttime-1.8-1mdv2007.0 harddrake-ui-10.4.81-1mdv2007.0 hwdb-clients-0.18-1mdk kdegraphics-kooka-3.5.4-7mdv2007.0 mdkonline-2.4-1mdv2007.0 some of these packages are not important for my computer? for example drakconf-10.4.13-1mdv2007.0 harddrake-ui-10.4.81-1mdv2007.0 I can remove it without any problem???

I tried to change Language - Country/Region with MCC, but I cannot find Romania in the Country list. In the previous versions of Mandriva it was. Now it isn't included? Also I cannot change the keyboard layout. If I go at KDE CC at Regional and Accessibility at Keyboard Layout and chose another KL in the task bar a small "err" appear instead of new KL.

It works ... thanks ;)

I've tried to install Real Player Plugin for Mozilla. I went to www.real.com and download the RealPlayer10GOLD.bin and try to execute but # ./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I've checked and I have libstdc++6 installed on my computer

Finally it works. At Plugins I add /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.7/plugins and at Java and Java Script I put at Path to java executable: /usr/java/jre1.5.0_09/bin/java I still have no Flash animation. It seems that loads flash plugins but doesn't show any animation.

I pointed to /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.7/plugins/ libflashplayer.so* libnullplugin.so* libjavaplugin_oji.so@ libunixprintplugin.so* Mozilla works fine with these plugins but Konqueror seems that doesn't load them

Hello On my new Md2007 screen saver doesn't work. Instead of "doing" something the screen just became black. I remember that at Md2006 there was a service xscreensaver that was running all time but here I cannot find it. After the installation of Md2007 it was working, but after I removed some packages the screen saver doesn't work. I know that it's not crucial the Screen saver but just for curiosity ...

I put .. but still not work ... it is actually looking for the command.. for example http://ispm.east.utcluj.ro/ nothing
