How can I find out about Firefox version?
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2.
Is that the version of Firefox/1.0.2?

You can use Software Media Manager to do it, and add it back in.
System/Configuration/Packages/Software Media Manager
Then you choose Add Custom, removable media, and there is a check box for installation media. Make sure /mnt/cdrom is selected, and then go for it and it'll add it all back in nice and easy.
I follow your instruction and it tells me
Adding a medium:
Type of medium: Local files FTP server HTTP server Removable device
Name:
Path: Browse.....
Relative path to synthesis/hdlist:
Create media for a whole distribution
Rpmdrake tell me
You need to fill up at least the two first entries.
So what should I do?
-
I assume that you removed the cd's via MCC or urpmi.removemedia command. You can add them via MCC, but as I said if you have main and contrib repositories set up you don't need them. My basic mode of operation is to install from the cd's and then set up repositories without the cd's. I do have, however, a very fast cable connection, but once you have installed there is generally not much need to install much from a cd.
No urpmi.removeemedia command and I have very fast cable connection.
The one is I put my music cd in it won`t playing at all" it won`t recongnize at all".
You know before I install first time the MD 2005 LE it works very good it play`s music and so on,but I screw up and I install the second time, now it won`t recognize my cd any more can you help me please to recover every thing so that my MD recognize my cd.
polemicz you tell me please what I have to do,can you ?
-
The commands are urpmi.update -a and urpmi --auto-select. By the way since you have main and contrib repositories set up you ought to remove the CD media, unless you have a very slow connection and want to install some big new package. All, and more, of the packages are in main and contrib.
polemicz can you please tell me how I can get my CD media back?.

Dont delete your .kde folder, just rename it .kde_old. When you restart KDE a new .kde folder will be created, but you can migrate (copy) color schemes, icons, and application setting that you want to keep from the olde kde directory to the new KDE folder. Once you have your new KDE desktop set up, then you can delete the old .kde_old folder.
You right don`t delete your .kde folder, just rename it .kde_old.

Tnx Mandriva-user it works and tnx everyone to try to help me.
-
Look in the kde control center, sound, audio cds.. what path is given for the cd player. If it points to the wrong device change it.
I looked at MCC and it tells me
Mount point: /mnt/cdrom
Device: hdc
Type: iso 9660
Options: user,iocharset iso 8859-1,noauto,ro,exec

Amarok will playback audioCD's only if using the dreaded Arts engine, while the gstreamer and xine engines don't understand KDE's VFS. A workaround is on the cards, but (AFAIK) not implemented yet.
If you cannot playback even with the (f)arts engine, close Amarok, open "kscd", stop playback and then through the settings enable digital playback. Now close kscd, relaunch Amarok and (hopefully) it will work.
A hint though: Simply use the Amarok xine engine, and use either kscd or kaffeine for audioCD playback. Arts is a pain...
Usual you but a cd in to the drive what you see on your window?

Beginning I installed Mandriva 2005 LE and I playing AMAROK no problem, because I looked in my desktop I can see CD ICON,but after I use Mandriva 2005LE updates I can`t see CD ICON on my desktop where did it go.Before I updates my Mandriva 2005LE it was there but after it is gone.
I went Menu---->Multimedia------->sound----->AMAROK.
From Amarok---->AUCTION------->Play AUDIO CD it won`t play hmmmm?
When I fresh installed the Mandriva 2005 LE with out updates work's very well I could see CD Recording Icon on my desktop,I could playing AMAROK,Noatun,KMid.... and after I update my Mandriva 2005 LE all those AMAROK,Noatun,KMid....why I can`t play anymore and I can`t see CD Recording Icon on my desktop anymore :scratch:Please someone can help me out.
Tnx Schneemann

2005LE uses udev, not devfs (currently deprecated from 2.6.X kernels)... so the device node is /dev/hdc.
So it is right then is it?
-
Well I have someting that you interest it
DeviceOld device file: ?/dev/hdc
New devfs device: ?/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd
,that what I found?
-
KscD can't play anything else than audioCD's, so it can't play audiofiles out of harddisk.
Put in an audioCD, start KsCD (if not autostarted), stop playback and enable digital output for the CD-ROM.
It to open KsCD now and it playing music with no sound?
I have to go know, see ya later
-
But if I go to the WIN_D where I store my songs and playing KsCD,Amarok...
It willl playing why?
-
Before it works fine but after I type in ls -l /mnt/cdrom/main_updates/media_info/pubkey
After that I insert my cd updated disk it work I can see four files,I go ahead and try out .
After that I try to playing music on cd it won`t play can some one please help me out to fix the problem.
I`m using Mandriva 2005 limited edition.
Tnx mikecanada

At the top of this board, click on the easy urpmi link. Follow the well written instructions and enjoy!
I click on the easy urpmi link, what I recall about last week I found easy urpmi link and I upgrade or update it.
Tnx for the tips anyway
-
1.0.7 RPM's for 2005LE available here
As usual, add this place to your urpmi repositories (via "urpmi --addmedia blahblahblah"), update all repos and then do "urpmi mozilla-firefox" instead of downloading and trying to install from local files.
And of course you can use the prebuilt binaries for 1.5 RC1, or follow the instructions on mozillazine.org and try building 1.5 RC1 yourself (it isn't very easy or fast, but it will be a very good Linux lesson).
You tell me add on via urpmi but how?.
I know how open the KONSOLE and type
Su
password
The rest please could you tell me.

Hi,
I have set up the firewall in the suse10.0 OSS by unchecking all boxes, which should stop anything getting through.
I then went to Steve gibson`s Shields Up! site https://grc.com/x/ne.dllbhObkyd2 and ran the Common Ports test.
Everything was `stealthed` apart from port 113 (IDENT).
This was using my Motorola SBS5101 USB modem. However,if I connect using my D-Link combined router//firewall only port 113 is not stealthed using router.
So how do I configure Shorewall to stealth port 113 when using the Motorola?
I know there are arguments that port 113 shouldn`t drop network packets as this can cause problems, but I use router for hours on end never experience any connection slowdowns, even though it does stealth this port.
And of course,if you reject packets, crackers know that your computer exists....
Tnx to let me know and helping me out.
