I see the nic in MCC. Not wireless. I ran through the network setup during installation. I have tried to MCC network setup a number of times, it hasn't worked yet. I am still pretty new to Linux, so I am not familar with how to edit the network files. I can use the termial, I just don't know what to put in the files. When I tell the MCC setup DHCP do I need to put anything else, b/c the default is not cutting it. I did put my gateway IP in the Hostname and it still did not work? Still trying.

I installed LE2005. Install went fine, but I cannot connect to Internet. I have a cable modem connected to a linksys router. I can see my nic but no connection. I am using DHCP. All of my other computers work fine. I have installed Ubuntu and FC4, the internet connection worked right out of the box as it were. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I unplugged all of my usb devices. Ubuntu installed. Having some trouble with VMware, bluetooth, syncing my Treo 650, multi drive and a couple of other things. I am going to try LE2005 next. Will keep you posted. Thanks to all for your help.

I have tried Ubuntu, FC4, Xandros, Berry, Knoppix, MDK 10.1, Limted 2005. Only Berry has worked thus far.

LE 2005 did not install; same problem. The only Distro that has worked is Berry Linux. Is there an install version of Berry?

Still downloading LE2005(80% complete). My machine rebooted while I was gone-windows :(. As soon as it is done, I will check the image, burn it and attempt to install. Does anyone know how I can configure my Marvell Yukon NIC from within Berry Linux?

While waiting to leave, I downloaded and tried Berry Linux, it worked!!! I made it to the desktop but the nic card was not configured, and I could not get into the NIC config portion, it asked for a password. This being a live cd, I was not given the opportunity to create one. It did not recognize my NVidia FX 5500 dual head AGP video card. I did have sound. I guess I could try SU from within a Term session? I am downloading LE 2005, I will see how that works out before I decide which to use. I will post that on Sunday night.

I will try LE 2005 and Berry Linux. Up to this point I have tried MDK 10.1, Ubuntu 5.4 install and live, Knoppix, FC4, FC3, debian 3.0r4, and xandros desktop, none have worked. I haven't removed my usb devices b/c on a previous motherboard with same usb devices, I had no problem installing MDK and FC3. If I cannot use them, I will probably not install linux, or I will revert to my old motherboard :( Will post results Sunday night (going to Disneyland for the weekend). Thanks to all for your imput. Used noacpi ide=nodma, no luck. There is a PnP/PCI menu but it only contains PCI IRQ assignment.

Yes, I have tried liux noacpi and noapic. No luck.

There is no PnP switch in my bios. It has a PnP/PCI settings menu, but no PnP disable/enable option. I used linux noapci-no joy. The install always locks up after detecting hardware. I have tried Knoppix and Ubuntu live cds-no joy. I don't get an error message per se. Sometimes I get ohci_hcd 0000:02:09.1: Unlik after no-IRQ? Different ACPI or APIC Settings may help. or the last line is this: calling mount (none, /proc/bus/usb, usbdevfs, -1058209792, ) I see the following a few times: usb 1-1 or 2-4 device descriptor read/64, error- 110 If I could I would capture the entire screen and upload it, but I don't think I can do that during install, and since I have yet to get any further.... Can you glean anything from this? I thank you for your help.

Everytime I try install it locks up right after finding hardware. It never makes it to the GUI. I have tried "linux noacpi noapci". I let it sit for hours, still no joy. I wish to migrate from Windows. I was hoping it would be a bit less difficult. Please help.
