Hi,
just installed and very easy it was. I've never had a distro get my dialup right before.
It all looks very good but I can't find the File manager (Superuser). I can't function without this as I must get into other drives and partitions to get set up. Where have I missed it?

Hello everybody!
After 2 1/2 days of caffeine soaked effort I am finally in. I am talking about the modem.
I was hoping that somebody would tell me simply how you make the changes in Konqueror stick.
I can't find how to make a home page, I can't find how to make Konqueror dial out and I can't understand how to make a connection to these things if I log in as root.
I am sorry if this is too simple but any changes I make are lost on next boot so I am obviously not in root.
It must be easy but I have tried maybe ten times and after the marathon with the modem, I am ready to give up. Be glad of some help here.

I am not yet a Mandrake user (waiting for the CD's).
I have a dual boot system with XP on one drive and Simply Mepis on the other using the Grub boot which works fine.
Reading through this forum I am a little concerned by all the dual boot problems.
My question is...will I be able to install Mandrake on the second part of my Linux drive and will it be picked up by the existing Grub booter?
Sorry if this is too elementary but I am a beginner and want as much info as possible before attempting the Mandrake install.

I got that done...thanks again.
In my other distro I would mount a different partition (say data backup) using kwikdisk then use Konqueror as root to open the partition (in Mepis and Pclos in /mnt).
I can't show any other partitions so far other than in /dev. If you can tell me how to do this now I'll be able to transfer all my stuff without booting Mepis.
Sorry to be so ignorant but this is a bit different from what I have been using.
