Hi, I have a problem with the newsreader Pan on Mandrake 9.1 with KDE.

When I'm getting the headers of big binary groups Pan will completely fill up my ram memory and my swap partition.

And they are both 512 MB! Resulting in an very slow computer, and sometimes even an crashing KDE.

Somebody has any idea how this can happen and what I can do about it?

well if you're sure this is due to pan then it is probably a bug

you can try to use a more recent version of pan (I think texstar provides pan rpms)

and see if the problem presists (backup you .pan directory though, pan trashed my configs after an upgrade before).

you can try posting to the pan users mailing list http://mail.freesoftware.fsf.org/mailman/l...tinfo/pan-users for help

and finaly you can try other newsclients.

cheers,

Alaa
