Guest dlmazzo
Hi - I've found it frustrating trying to get Gcc 3.2 installed on an 8.2 installation. I've got the RPM's on the 9.0 disk set, yet in using the Mandrake Control Center/Software Manager I can find the Gcc 3.2 RPM. When I try to install it, it says it needs other SPECIFIC RPMs, like binutils, that are not included on those disks. How can 9.0 be installed (and include Gcc3.2) without those RPMs being there? Thanks for the help!
Guest frew
If I were you I would not do that. Installing something like gcc from an rpm of a newer system would be kinda crazy. Unless your computer is REALLY slow, why not just dl the source and start it compiling when you go to bed? I always did that when I had 8.2. Guest dlmazzo
I realize what you mean about installing from a newer distribution. I'll download the source and give it a try.
