Guest SnowX
I have started using Mandriva 2008 and overall it feels very nice, but there are some minor quirks. I installed mplayer and related gui packages from PLF, but the gui will not open video flies. I have downloaded all codecs etc. Mplayer from the command line plays everything I throw at it perfectly, but when the GUI opens files it seems to inject several '%' symbols into file names. Anybody else have this problem, or a fix? Thanks.
adamw
Not sure about that problem, but there's an obvious alternative. Install smplayer or kmplayer. These are alternative (and more advanced) GUIs for mplayer that should work fine.
Guest SnowX
Thanks for the reply adamw, but I fixed the problem. The menu entry for mplayer was calling "soundwrapper gmplayer %U" (i suspect %U was messing up the file names) so I just changed it to "gmplayer" and now everything is perfect.
