Opera won't load after system update.

This happened to me as well, I went to Opera's forum and there people who had the exact same problems with Ubuntu and Debian.

They had found the reason to be the new security updated libx11-6. I reinstalled the old rpm packages and now it works again, although without the security patches.

This doesn't seem to be a Mandriva error since more distrobutions are affected.

Did the usual system update last night on Mandriva 2007. This morning, after bringing up the system again, Opera won't load. First time this has ever happened with any Mandriva release. Any ideas?

Thanks much for the info and link. Instead of downgrading libx11-6 there is now an Opera hotfix. I'll download from their site later when I get home.

Here is a link to the discussion about this issue on the Opera forum: http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2007/04/06/hotfix

That link contains a link to the Opera hotfix.

Thanks again!
