Guest dllarson
Hi, I'd like to take the Mandriva 2007 Free x86_64 distribution out for a test drive but I am having problems installing onto a USB hard drive. CD1 boots fine but when the partitioning tool comes up the USB drive is not there. My two other SATA drives show up as "sda" and "sdb". When I did a trial installation of Ubunbtu Feisty Fawn (64bit) it recognized the drive (it showed up as "sdc") with no problems. I'm running on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 based system with 2GB of ram, and two SATA drives (which I don't want to mess with right now) and an nVidia 6600 video card. Can anyone out there give me some pointers? Thanks! Dale
SoulSe
Instead of installing to an external drive, why not try out Mandriva Move? It allows you to boot into Mandriva from a CD and play around with it. This might be better for you, unless you have a specific need to try out the 2007 Free x86_64 flavour.
