jboy
As the root user from the command line, execute the XFdrake command to select, configure and test your video card setup. Be sure to run the Test menu selection to verify that you get a good test screen response. Then select the Options menu item, which has an option to automatically boot into graphical mode at startup. Reboot normally. Then either reboot or run the startx command (as your regular user, not as root) to see if your graphical environment works. Guest param
Dear Firend I have tried Startx but no use but it loads in GUI and stops at login and then CUI while shutting Down it again goes to GUI but in middle during the time it remains CUI. I've tried these two steps. man inittab Change the default runlevel from 3 to 5 Something like cp inittab inittab.bak sed s/id:3:initdefault:/id:5:initdefault:/g inittab.bak > inittab 1. Log in as root on the screen. 2. type "runlevel5" and hit Enter. 3. type "startx" and hit Enter. as suggested by some users to them having the same problem, but it didn't help out. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/sh...ad.php?t=494768 Waiting for your all help. jboy
What about the XFdrake command that was mentioned? Did you execute that command as the root user and did you get a successful Test screen output after configuring your video card and monitor?
