mandrake gaming edition 8.1 info needed

just bought mandrake 8.1 including the sims but when i opened the box i got 4 cds

1=commercial applications cd1

2=commercial applications cd1

3= second installation cd

4=the sims

now i telephoned the shop i bought it from (of the internet) and they phoned me back saying they had telephoned their supplier and was sending me another pack out.

i recieved the pack today and when i opened the pack this is what i got

1=commercial applications cd1

2=commercial applications cd1

3= second installation cd

4=the sims

now i know this isn't right as i don't have the install cd 1, but i just want to check with anyone who does know.

wow, why such an old version? anyway - you should be able to get the missing cd for free via download. These sites had some older iso's but not 8.1 gaming edition.

I don't think the gaming edition had much special except for the sims cd which you have. Have you tried a newer more stable release and tried to install the sims? 8.2 might work out of the box and maybe with some work you could get it working under an even newer release.

 

Sorry I can't offer any more help. It would be cool to get sims working under 2005le or 2006/2007.

yeh i finally got the sims to run on ubuntu 6.06 and mandriva 2007

im just annoyed at the supplier not sending the right cds out,

if you want the info to run sims on 2007 let me know il retrace the steps i took
