Guest anon
If your new to mandrake and did a normal install, its possible you have both KDE /Gnome installed, When you boot and enter your login/password type "kde" or "startx" ( without the quotes) and press enter. Counterspy
If Anon has not solved your problem, perhaps you could tell us exactly what you did if you installed Mandrake yourself, or whether it was installed by someone else. If it was someone else, do you have the install disks? It is possible to set up Mandrake without KDE, Gnome or other window manager in which case you would be in console text only mode. What do you see when your computer finishes loading Mandrake? It will make it much easier to help with the answers to these questions.
