payasam
Several months ago I downloaded Gaby, which described itself as a small and flexible data base program. I have tried intermittently to put my phone book into it, but haven't got anywhere. The help is remarkable in that it specifies some files' locations but not what their extensions should be, and speaks of tools (an example being the "Druid") which do not seem to exist. The phone list is part of my addresses file, which I keep in Foxbase (virtually the same as dBase III+) format and for which I have a form and queries in StarOffice. I'd like to have it quickly accessible without firing up StarOffice. Gaby actually opens with an address book and offers to import phone data in dBase or CSV format. Every time, though, it stops with the flat statement that the CSV file's format is no good. I shall appreciate advice from anyone who has worked with this program.
