Guest sleek_metaphor
I recently downloaded and installed RealPlayer for Linux. I'm running Mandriva LE 2005. However, when I run "realplay", I get the following message: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory So, I went to MCC and tried to install libstdc++.so.5. But when I went to do so, I received the following message: The following packages have bad signatures: libstdc++5-3.3.4-4mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid signature ((SHA1) DSA sha1 md5(GPG) (MISSING KEY) GPG#78d019f5 NOT OK) Do you want to continue installation? I didn't continue with the installation because I don't know what, if anything will happen. Should I continue with the installation? If not, does anyone else have any other ideas as I would really like to use RealPlayer. Many thanks. Stephen
jboy
Here's a couple message threads addressing this: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...39entry182039 https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...26entry140726 https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...38entry198038 Bottom line from the above: you should be ok installing the package. aRTee
Extra remark: all the fuzz is about in terms of signatures, is that if it's not properly signed, you can't trust that it's really based on the source code. Since you want to install realplayer, for which no source code is available, why worry about signatures? You're already installing black box stuff on your system.... Or maybe I'm just cynical...
