eroica
hello, i just installed mandriva 2006 on laptop and am noticing constant activity on my cd/dvd player. I looked in ksysguard and see that a process named kded is consuming 45-50 % of resorces even when system is idle. I googled kded and get conflicting problem resolutions. Most people seem to be having this trouble and alot of hdd activity. I stopped KAT but that didnt help. Does anyone know of a solution to why kded is so active. I looked on my mdk 9.1 machine w/kde 3.1 and that shows 0 in ksysguard when system is idle. thanx alan
aRTee
you have to uninstall kat: urpme kat or do the deinstallation with mandriva control center. Deactivating doesn't do the trick.
