Guest Original Name
Whenever I urpmi.update -a urpmi always fails to connect to the sources I have listed. It doesn't matter if I add new ones or whatever, it still always fails to connect. Anyone else have this problem?
Guest anon
Does it fail if you do : urpmi.update -"name_of_source" ?
beesea
to update all sources just do: urpmi.update -a to update a specific source: urpmi.update sourcename
Guest anon
to update all sources just do:urpmi.update -a He's done that, it doesn't work, thats his question.
Guest Original Name
yeah it still fails if I urpmi.update "name of source"
Guest anon
Weird, can you post the output from urpmi.update bla bla bla ? BTW, what version of mdk are you running ?
beesea
He's done that, it doesn't work, thats his question ah, i read it wrong. i thought he was doing: urpmi.update -a urpmi but that second urpmi was part of the sentence, not the command. i guess i should read more carefully! anyways, in the original post: urpmi always fails to connect to the sources I have listed so does this mean that urpmi can't connect to remote sources, or no sources (remote or local) at all? Guest Original Name
Urpmi can't connect to remote sources Here's the output: [root@rmor-164-107-221-118 brad]# urpmi.update -a examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 1 (x86 ) (cdrom1).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 2 (x86 ) (cdrom2).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.International CD (x86) (cdrom3).cz] retrieving description file of "plf"... retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "plf"... curl: (7) Connect failed % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Curr. Guest anon
Sorry if Im stating the obvious here, but the only time I have seen: curl: (7) Connect failed " is when I type either the URL wrong, or I put hdlist.cz instead of hdlist2.cz etc, If you have typed in the correct URL, then other than re-installing urpmi, or rebuilding the database, rpm -rebuilddb Don't know what else to sugest. If you want to try some other sites, this link makes it easy: http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/urpmiweb.php
Guest Original Name
Yeah that sites where I got all my urpmi sources from originally, so that sucks. Thanks though.
