Guest GeorgesGiralt
Hi ! I've a Mandrake distro on an harddisk partition (IDE) which lack some space (1.5 G). (it shares the very same hardware as a Fedora Core 3, an Ubuntu 5.04 and a Knooppix version). So I've freed some space (4.5 G) on another disk SCSI this time, and moved the distro with this : as root mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/hd dump 0uaf - /dev/hdc2 | (cd /mnt/hd && restore -rf -) vi /etc/fstab I've changed the disks in Grub config file, redone the initrd file to include the Symbios kernel module and tried to boot. I was hardly surprised to get a kernel panic with "no init found" and I'm still searching what is wrong. (the display shows the Symbios Tekram DC390 card with my "stuff" detected but the pivot root seems not to work at all ) Any clue or pointer to a relevant documentation will be _greatly_ appreciated ! Thanks a lot in advance !
jboy
There's been a good topic on this recently with lots of info on moving an install to another partition/disk. https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=27341
