But i managed everything. Now my problem is how to install a software in Linux. In Windows Just Click is enough. But how to install a software in Linux .....??????????????????? I am using Mandrake 10 Please Help to install. It's easy to install while gettiing .rpm pakage.But what about the .tar.gz. & .tar. Aomighty Posted August 25, 2005 Report Share Posted August 25, 2005 Many time you use neither. Almost always (at least for me), the package I need is in urpmi. Go to the easy-urpmi link at the top of the site to set it up (you'll need the internet though. Go to the Mandrake Control Center (Kmenu->System->Configure your computer I believe), and go into the network section, there you can select a driver to use. Aomighty Posted August 26, 2005 Report Share Posted August 26, 2005 Yes, but for a long time (and I'll bet many people thought this) I installed stuff with rpm -iv rather than urpmi, which wasn't good for system continuity.
