Guest snakedog
...I got this old Compaq up and running on Mandrake 10.2 for the express purpose of doing some hosting. I've been running Apache 2.0.52 on an old (and I mean old!) Windows NT machine. I thought Apache 2.0.53 under Linux would be similar, but I have to admit I'm lost. I do some virtual hosting and find the config to be altogether different. Under NT, the only thing I had to edit was the httpd.conf file, but with all the _mods on this new box, it's like starting over. I've RTFM'ed but I'm a hands-on guy and it's not helping much. All I'm doing is hosting basic html pages, no php, nothing fancy. Where do I get started? Thanks.
fissy
this may be some help on the virtual hosting issue: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...he+virtual+host This was done on gentoo, the only difference is that mandrake might have different file paths (eg. /etc/httpd instead of /etc/apache2)
