Soundserver failed - CPU Overload

Hello:

Every now and then, even when not playing any sound, I get this message from KDE in a dialog box: "Soundserver failed. CPU Overload. Aborting"

If I'm playing amaroK, it will stop playing and I'd have to restart it. But once this error occurs, it will become more frequent every time. As in if the first I was able to play, say 12 songs, and then the error occured, when I restart amaroK, the error will occur again after maybe 4 songs, then 2 songs...

I have MDV LE 2005, KDE 3.3. CPU is P4 3.2GHz and ALSA is using atiixp

Has anybody encountered this problem? Or does anyone have any insight on how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.
