Guest woodworker97
I'm trying to upgrade gimp from v2.0 to 2.2 using urpmi update. I keep getting a window saying that it is unable to retrieve packages for this site (i've been going to gimp.org website). How about upgrading existing programs in general, is urpmi the best way to do this? Is there another (easier) way to upgrade existing products? Still trying to learn linux... exasperating but challenging. I appreciate all the help given so far.
solarian
Remove your current GIMP installation. Install a fresh copy. --- That's the cleanest and most simple way. p.s. Make sure all your urpmi sources are set up before
sellis
The way I did it was even more drastic - I upgraded to 2005LE! I wanted a load of other updates too (x.org, KDE, etc), and this seemed like the easiest way.
Guest woodworker97
How do I go about making sure my urpmi sources are the correct ones for the latest gimp version? Thanks.
