ellianef
Hello, How to get rid of the splash screen at boot time. I have some problem that prevent booting sometimes and I can't get the messages displayed even by hitting the escape key, so I'm stuck in the dark. Is there a way to get the old good white on black 'nix screen wit all esoteric things displayed ? I've tried lots of config options, but can't fin the right one. Thanks a lot. ellianef
goto mcc - boot - boot theme - then uncheck graphical boot <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've unchecked all options and restart but it doesn't wipe out the splash ... Seems to be hard wired somewhere else. In what file is the behaviour set up , so I could check it by hand ? Thanks. Episode 3: Found that removing splash=silent from lilo.conf enables all messages to be shown in the display zone. Some progress ...... But how to completely disable the splash boot function ? Thanks. adamw
Remove all the 'vga=' lines from lilo.conf, run lilo, reboot.
