Guest Rostfrei
Hello! I have a linux newbie question for you old linux dveloper foxes. I am new to linux and I have managed to compile a few projects from the web (by tedailed instructions). I'm a windows C++ developer (VC++), but I have never used gcc for developing program (except a few little atmel projects with very small handwritten makefiles). By looking into some open source projects I found out that they all have very similar structure, they all have to run ./configure, etc. I wonder if the developers use some kind of tool to make this kind of project structure, is configure script generated ? Please hive me few hints where do I start (and please don't say it's all in gcc manual...a LOT of reading). arthur
I don't know about the config scripts, but I know that IDEs like KDevelop and Anjuta can handle the makefiles for you...and I think config files *could* be handled as well.
