KDevelop in Mandrake 10.2

Hi

Has anyone started using the new Mandrake 10.2 Beta1 yet?

Any feedback?

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/102beta.php3

I'm asking because I use KDevelop quite a bit, but I noticed on the Distrowatch page, a KDevelop version is not listed.

http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=mandrake

Does this mean that KDevelop is not in this beta? I'm still using Mandrake 10.0 because of KDevelop problems with Mandrake 10.1, but keen to update.

:thanks:

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm still thinking of blowing away my working Mandrake 10.0 system to try out the new 10.2 beta 3 iso cdroms.

However I'm still unsure if it contains KDevelop? :huh2:

Looking at these pages, I suspect not. Has anyone used any of these 10.2 beta iso cdroms yet and can confirm either way?

Yes, but it says

REJECTED master disc 10.2-Beta2-Disc1 (6) 18523155 limit kdevelop-3.1.2-6mdk.i586 ( [ list 1 ] Not enough space: )

or

REJECTED master disc 10.2-Beta3-Disc1 (9) 15631616 kdevelop-3.1.2-10mdk.i586 ( [ list 1 ] Missing dependencies: libgpgme.so.11)

This implies to me that it is not in the ISOs :huh2:

It's not in the ISOs, no. There's not enough space for everything. Whether a package is on the ISOs or not is basically determined by a few factors:

1) whether warly loves it

2) whether it was there before

3) how popular it is

(not necessarily in order ;>). It doesn't really imply anything about its status, though. kdevelop is in main, which means it's fully developed, tested and supported by MDKsoft. If you want to use it on 10.2 beta, simply install the beta then set up Cooker urpmi sources and install it from there. Using Cooker as a source for beta releases is fine, since they're essentially the same thing.
