Guest Cbrduck
Howdy, I installed Thunderbird 1.0 from Cooker and while it works fine, everytime I start it up I have to create a profile, again, which is driving me nuts. Any suggestions ? Also, I have a similar problem with the HSF modem I have at home. This is plain vanilla 10.1 CE from a magazine dvd and I never had this particular problem with 10.0, but each time I turn on the pc I have to su and run hsfconfig to create /dev/ttySHSF0, and then create a link to that called /dev/modem. Why can't it remember this ? Aargh ! Regards, Paddy.

I don't know about Thunderbird. I installed the archive file from the mozilla.org website. Although have to remember to change and cascade file permissions if you go down that route. To fix the HSF modem problem try the following: Create small file in /etc/udev/rules.d/ (name does not matter but must end with .rules) such that you get the following contents... % cat /etc/udev/rules.d/00-modem.rules KERNEL="ttySHSF0" SYMLINK="modem" This seemed to work for me.
