Guest hosu
Recently I upgraded 9.2 (2.4.22-36mdk) to 10.1 (2.6.8.1-12mdk), the upgrade process went well. From the GRUB menu where I chose the kernel 2.6.8.1-12mdk, the startup process stopped after "Entering non-interactive startup". However, I can start the OS if choosing the old kernel 2.4.22-36mdk. From the boot loader, I selected/deselected the options of "Enable ACPI", "Force NO APIC" or "Force No Local APIC" in various combinations, the startup process just hung there. It's interesting to notice that if I chose "Force no APIC", the process may go on a couple steps further to "start PCMCIA service" or "Checking new hardware", then it hung there. From services menu (drakxservices), I deselected the services such as harddrake, PCMCIA, etc. It's the same.
