Hello everyone

Im totaly new to Linux,i only got it today and i was wondering:

Is it ok for me to disconnect my IDE hard drives with Windows XP on them and install Linux Mandrake 10.1 on my Scsi harddrive.

I wanted to do it this way just incase i do something wrong and kill my Xp drives.

I was then going to connect them all up and select then one i wanted to boot from, ether the Scsi with linux on it or my Ide with Xp on in the bios.

Will this work or is there an easyer way?

Thanx for the help in advance.

Thanx for the reply,i was just woried it whould kill my windows.I got a demo disc from a linux magazine a long time ago with mandrake 8 on it and when i tryed to install that i messed it up and couldnt boot into windows.

Got 10.1 installed OK today though and it seems a lot easyer to install than 8.
