Guest tarpon
OK, got MDK 9.0 up and running. But when I do a smbclient -L [host-name-of-share] to list available shares on a WinXP box all is well but the Workgroup of the MDK side is set to MDKGROUP. I changed the /etc/samba/smb.conf to the proper workgroup for the windows group, re-boot, still same. what is up? how do I change this critter? tb
Pzatch
I've never setup SMB from the comand line but I think when you reboot you loose the config file and samba rerights it for the "new" samba shares that it finds. Try rewriting you config and not rebooting. I'm not sure just a guess on my part. But what the heck, it's worth a try.
SoulSe
Set it up in Webmin. If you haven't installed it, it is on your mdk9.0 CDs. Open mozilla, go to https://localhost:10000 Easiest way to configure Samba.
