Hatepe
Hi, As a newcomer for Mandrake (used Suse 6.0 years ago for a short period) I decided to download the three ISO's for this distrbution: But I am puzzled about a fourth file there was to download: Mandrake10.0-official-download.md5.asc What am I supposed to do with this file
iphitus
This contains the MD5 sums of the ISOs. The MD5 sums are there so you can check that the download completed safely without any problems or corruption. Most of the time the downloads will be fine, and you can check if you want. It isnt needed for Mandrake to install fine.
Hatepe
Ah like SFV-checker in windows? Checksumming the files? Thank you.
spinynorman
If you cd to the directory where you downloaded and do md5sum -c Mandrake10.0-official-download.md5.asc the iso checksums will be checked against the asc file. :)
Hatepe
Okay, very clear! I am about to start burning the ISO's now. Never worked with Mandrake before and if all my questions are answered this clear, I am sure I will not have too many problems :)
