Guest Katana6434
Hello I have been trying to get some wireless cards working on my Compaq EVO N800V Laptop. I have 3 to choose from and I can't get any of them working. I do not think the pcmcia is working. When a card is inserted and I run the KDE PCMCIA util I get the following: Card 0: Anonymous Memory from the console if I type /sbin/cardctl ident i get the following: socket 0: no product info available function: 0 (multifunction) I have checked the logs after boot up and I seem to be fgetting an error message that states memory_cs not found. How do I get this module to load? Am i right in saying that this is causing the problems. I am a linux newbie so any help would be appreciated. Cheers Katana6434
brancalessio
Hi! Look if there is cardmgr running... Did you also tried cardctl insert to insert the PCMCIA card?
Guest Katana6434
When I type cardctl insert i get the following reply: ioctl(): Device or resource busy How do I find out if cardmgr is running? if you mean as a service, no it is not listed in there. brancalessio
To see if cardmgr is running, type in a console ps aux | grep card As root try do do that cd /etc/init.d ./pcmcia status this will tell you (more certainly) if PCMCIA services are running... Guest Katana6434
cd /etc/init.d ./pcmcia status I get cardmgr (pid 790) is running... So this must prove that cardmgr is running... Anyone have any other ideas
brancalessio
So, your card still doesn't work after that, does it? Then the problem is probably due to the "wireless" part of it. But I've never tried such device (my PCMCIA is used to have USB 2.0), so I can't help you! Sorry!
