thelorax
Hi I've just installed Mandrake 10.0 CE and it's all gone quite well except that opening any files in konqueror as a file manager is very slow. Things open eventually but only after about 1 minute. If I use the embedded preview they are virtually instantaneous. I should note this is only when opening another KDE programme, open office files open at normal speed as do movie files using xine (but not totem for some reason). I've also had konqueror as a web browser crash everytime I try use ftp. Are there any suggestions as why this might be and how to solve it? cheers, Edited March 12, 2004 by thelorax
SoulSe
Konqueror could be b0rked or there might be a bug in Mandy 10. I would start by reinstalling Konqueror and see if that helps, next I would try other file managers/browsers (such as Nautilus for files or the program simply called File Explorer and maybe Mozilla for the rest) are they giving the same problems? What filesystem are you using? Did you allow Mandrake to partition and setup filesystems for you or did you do it manually? How big is your swap partition (sorry, just thinking of everything)?
