I just installed Mandrake 10CE on my system. Installation goes without a hitch, but upon reboot, I get this:
"L99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99" ... and so on for about half the screen.
System setup:
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard
Using the onboard Promise 378-based SATA-RAID controller with two 80GB SATA drives
Partitioning done during install using drakX
/boot is ext3 RAID1 on /dev/md0
/ is reiserfs RAID0 on /dev/md1
/usr is reiserfs RAID0 on /dev/md2
/home is resierfs RAID0 on /dev/md3
swap is RAID0 on /dev/md4
LILO is installed to /dev/md0
I suspect LILO is having trouble installing the bootloader to the RAID device, but I set it up for mirroring, so both HDD's should have a complete bootloader, right? Also tried to install to only one disk, but accidentally wrote LILO to my windows array (identical HDD's, Intel ICH5R SATA-RAID controller), same results at boot.
I was so happy that Mandrake finally supports my SATA controllers... I have been unable to run any form of Linux on this box for a year because there was no support (at least at install) for either SATA controller! Now that they're supported, I'd really like to get it running!
