Try Sygate personal firewall I know you can get the free version on Tucows.com
I use it on all my windows machines and I have never had a problem with it.

I have Mandrake9.2 on my IBM R40 Centrino and it works great, I love it. Only think that I needed to intall was a driver for the centrino 802.11b but it was an easy install from www.linuxant.com
Edit:
Forgot to mention that the laptop will not haly properly. Everything shutsdown, but the GPU fan and it still shows some lights on.
Display resolution problem
in Software
Posted · Edited by RigidKnife
So how the screen resolution on the boot screen and command line (when Xserver isn't loaded) is not set to the same size as my Xserver.
I have a laptop thats native resolution is 1024x768, and when it boots it looks like its 800x600.
Its not a problem, it still loads and runs fine, just annoying.
Any one have any ideal?
Also how can I change the login screen so I can customize it?
EDIT
I figured it out, the display bios setting on the laptop was changed from LCD to CRT. Don't know how that happened, since I havn't been in the bios in a while.
