The RPM's can be found here: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3

try copying the plugin to ~/.mozilla/plugins.
It worked for the Firefox flash plugin

xine doesn't seem to recognize the codecs I install. I put them in /usr/lib/codecs like I've seen in other posts, and I checked .xine/config to make sure the path was right to the codecs.
When I try to play wmv9 file I get a message:
Missing Windows Media 9 codec
btw, I put codecs in /usr/lib/win32 too for good measure

I did a fresh install of Mandriva 2007. That worked just fine, but several times today, it just froze. I could still use the mouse, but couldn't click on anything with it. Is there a keyboard shortcut like CTRL-ALT-DEL for linux. I am trying to find out what process is freezing, or maybe the kernel is buggy. I hope not. I really like the new Mandriva so far.

Are there any options I can set in GRUB during install, like 'acpi=off'
-
OK, have you tried the noapic parameters as well?
yes
-
I tried esc, then linux acpi=off. that's when I get kernel panic.
-
I found what to do off a Suse live CD. I entered acpi=off before installing, and Mandriva installed just fine. Just 1 small glitch.
This happens when I boot up:
Kernel panic-not syncing no init found try passing init= to kernel
How do I pass init= to the kernel?
Also, is there a way to get the screenshot to a text file when this happens?

I have a root monitored, and sometimes over a period of 20-30 min., disk usage goes from 6gb used up to the 14gb I have set the partition to. It does go back down, but slows me down in the mean time.

Thanks, I'll try that
btw, what does 'linux noapic' do?

The Mandriva 2006 DVD boots to the startup screen, but after I start the install, the bar goes to about 75% then restarts the computer.
I am working off an HP Pavilion a804n desktop with a restore partition loaded by the manufacturer. I don't know if that is interfering with the install.
How to roll a custom kernel into a distro CD/DVD?
in Installing Mandriva

How do roll a custom kernel into a distro CD/DVD? Any kernel beyond 2.6.12 freezes my computer. I want to install Mandriva 2007, but don't want to modify the kernel after it's installed. I had no luck with that before. I just want it to be built into the CD.
