I just installed UT 2003 the install seemed to have went well, however when i try to run it i get the folllowing:

 

Failed to enter Entry: Can't find file for package 'Shiptech'

It sounds like it didn't go well as you said.

copy Shiptech.utx.uz2 from cd2 to your ut2003 directory.

cd to $UT2003_DIR/System and run

./ucc-bin decompress ../Shiptech.utx.uz2 -nohomedir

move the decompressed file to the Textures directory and delete the compressed file.

It's like not hosting a Q3A server because Lucasarts and EA won't port JK2 and Alice.

I checked all three CDs and there really is NO installer for Linux.

Where did you get the idea that there was a linux port? There was no announcement.

I'm hoping someone like, oh, maybe ravage, will whip up a good installer.
