Everything works fine, even the LT Winmodem. The only
problem is the ISAPnP Sound Card (Opl3SAx) which completely freezes the laptop.
So I have no sound. |

Travelmate 200DX |

Internal modem doesn't work, sound not operating properly.
Apart from that everything else seems to work (ali sound, soft modem internal). |

- power ( battery,...) doesn't not work well - sound : strange behavior with hibernation (microphone is switched on after restart). - AMR lucent modem doesn't work - scroll button touchpad of touchpad doesn't work - some extra keys don't work but let says it mainly works and I can be more than productive with it. |

Sound card needs kernel > 2.4.0. Lucent winmodem not
working (AMR slot). PS/2 mouse bug with Mdk 8.0. |

Travelmate 510T |

Lucent WinLT modem requires 3rd party packages to work,
and must be recompiled. I haven't got it working yet. Everything else detected very well, including sound, video |

Since 7.X everything works perfectly. |

Travelmate 512T |
7.1 - 8.1b |
Some Problems with the video card up to 7.2 (The color
map seems to be wrong sometimes). On 8.0 some problems with the sound at
the beginning. I've not tested the winmodem again since 7.2. At that test
I was able to ring. Cardbus ethernet works fine. Compact Flash cards and
automount would not work! |

Travelmate 517TE |

Not many problems except with the PCMCIA sockets.
I've tried several types of NICs and the same problem has come up each time. When I boot the computer, everything seems fine. Once up into X, though, there is no network connection even though I have a link light on the dongle and ifconfig shows that the DHCP server was found and has assigned me an address. All I do is cardctl eject and cardctl insert and everything comes up fine from there. The sound isn't working either. All I get is an annoying hum on the speakers. I don't care about that, though, since this is for work anyway. |

Travelmate 521TE |

I've had some problems installing 7.2, mainly with the
sound card; with 8.0 everything went fine. Haven't tested the winmodem yet,
though. |

Everything is fine except small sound volume problem. I
haven't tested winmodem, I installed physical modem instead. Needs further
adjustment with Chinese fonts and display. |

Travelmate 522TXV |
7.2, 8.0 |
Original modem is a WinModem, ( not usable ) but I use
a PCMCIA card modem now - works fine. Sound wouldn't work with 7.2. |

Everything works fine. Installation and configuration is
easy...only the winmodem doesn't work...maybe it is because I'm too stupid. |

Some things are not detected properly: Trackpad, sound
card, PCMCIA controller. On the other hand: I tested Red Hat 7.1, SuSE 7.1
and Best Linux on this machine - and have returned quickly to Mandrake Linux
8.0 ;-) |

Travelmate 529TX |

Installing process ok. Everything works good, except
for the internal modem and the touch pad, I use a PS2 external mouse instead.
I'm happy however. |

Hardware detection perfect. X-Server really slow. Power
management doesn't work properly. Sound functions after manual configuration. |

Travelmate 730TX |

Small sound problem: microphone volume causes problem:
solved by muting input volume |

Travelmate 732TXV |
7.2, 8.0 |
On a clean install with Mandrake 8 the sound doesn't install
correctly, but can be configured manually. An upgrade from 7.2 to 8 works
like a charm. |
