fisher
Hello everyone When you install software from an online repository with Rpmdrake, where does Rpmdrake download the software to before installing it? Please reply. I will appreciate any help you give me.
Steve Scrimpshire
I'm not at my Linux box at the moment, but I believe it is /var/cache/urpmi/RPMS By default, it deletes them after installation.
ianw1974
Steve is right on the nail. Ones partially downloaded should be /var/cache/urpmi/partial or /var/cache/urpmi/RPMS/partial - can't quite remember as I too also not got a Mandriva install handy right now. grendal
If you want to keep them, you can do this, in a terminal: (as root, of course) urpmi --noclean yourpackage.rpm replace yourpackage.rpm with what you want to install I think that still works, I haven't used it in a while. Yankee
I'd like to keep my updates and what I download and install. How do I make it keep everything? I'd like to burn them so that I can reinstall everything without downloading again. Thanks
dexter11
You mean with the GUI (rpmdrake)? AFAIK there's no such option for rpmdrake yet. You have to use the command line as described in the previous post.

Add the following option to /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg { post-clean :0 } This will negate the default post-clean option See man urpmi.cfg. Yankee
Thank you...this worked like a charm. This needs to be in the settings.
