Havin_it
'ning, What it says. It's about the first thing that runs at boot, I think it only appeared during update to KDE 3.4, and all RPMDrake tells me is it's something to do with IBM Thinkpads (I'm on a Toshiba). Anyone know exactly what this thing is/does? Edited May 26, 2005 by Havin_it
scarecrow
It's a docking station, if you don't have one then disable it...
ianw1974
I disabled it since it only related to IBM Thinkpads.
adamw
Some thinkpads have a docking bay into which you can hot-swap various drives; I think ultrabayd monitors this and does the appropriate things when you swap from (for e.g.) a floppy to a CD drive in this bay. As the others said, if you don't have such a laptop, you may as well turn it off.
Havin_it
Well... My combo-drive is housed in such a way that makes me think it might be hot-swappable, but I have nothing with which to swap anyway, so it's rather a moot point... I may just give it a try. Nil desperandum and all that... nice knowing you all...
