javaguy
Like the topic says, can't get sound to work. Now I do hear sound, e.g. when I play a YouTube movie or whatever, I get audio, but the sound stutters to the point of complete incomprehensibility. The people sound like Alvin and the chipmunks, only much, much worse. Any suggestions? (Yes, I turned off artsd. ;) )
daniewicz
From this thread: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...62&hl=sound Try the following: Go into the KDE Control Center and in "Sound System", change the "Auto Suspend if idle" timer to 1-2 seconds. javaguy
Still the same result. I hear sound, but it's all squeaky and distorted. Other sound applications work fine, incidentally.
Guest Nanda Sunu
Still the same result. I hear sound, but it's all squeaky and distorted. Other sound applications work fine, incidentally. you may need to upgrade to flash 9 for youtube videos to play properly, I got no sound on youtube before upgrading from the inlcluded (flash 7) pluginso. You should be able to download it from: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html, but the links on that site seem to be messed up right now. When you do get the plugins, you can just extract the *.so file to ~/.Mozilla/plugins (create it if its not there) and it should work fine in Firefox.
