Qchem Posted December 3, 2003 Report Share Posted December 3, 2003 Hi all, I'm doing a bit of web design and when I attempt to validate my xhtml I get errors along the lines of document type does not allow element "p" here; missing one of "object", "applet", "map", "iframe", "button", "ins", "del" start-tag the line this refers to is:

background { colour <1, 1, 1> }

I've little idea what this means, possible something to do with whats allowed as children?? Can anyone help me out here? Thanks, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
paul Posted December 3, 2003 Report Share Posted December 3, 2003 it probably means that you need to wrap your
tag try

.......

if you give us link we could help some more ;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Qchem Posted December 3, 2003 Author Report Share Posted December 3, 2003 (edited) I would provide a link but the page is on an intranet and the other webserver I have access to isn't playing nicely. Anyway, the problem was that I need to nest the
inside the
just like you said, thanks a lot! Theres probably a few more errors to come.... fuzzylizard Posted December 3, 2003 Report Share Posted December 3, 2003 If you can't post a link, can you post more of the code then. Some more of the surrounding code both before and after would be very helpful. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
